How do I get an AI reply in Slack that knows the context?

Last updated 6 November 2026.

The short version: Opsis writes your next line wherever you type: Slack, Gmail, Outlook, Teams, Notion, Google Docs and AI chats like Claude and ChatGPT. Press Tab to keep it. It can also draft a whole reply from a few notes, using facts from your own work: what's on your screen, the apps you connect (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Slack, Notion, GitHub, Linear, Outlook) and your history. For a Slack reply, that means it already has the thread in front of it, and it can pull a fact from the doc, ticket or email behind the question. You write a few words of what you want to say and it drafts the rest.

The usual alternatives are a bot that answers on its own, or copying the thread into a chat window. A bot posts without you. A chat window starts with nothing. Opsis sits in the box you are already typing in and leaves the sending to you.

Who it's for.

Operators and founders who answer questions in Slack all day and need the reply to be right, not just fast. Also customer success and support people who check facts in other tools before they answer.

Your data.

Opsis only follows the apps you share. Private windows and password managers are never recorded. When assistance is on, the text it needs is processed in the cloud with your consent, encrypted in transit and at rest, with zero data retention at our AI providers. Opsis isn't a screen recorder. You can pause, disconnect an app or delete your history whenever you like. Read the privacy policy · How Opsis handles data.

Why context is the hard part

A good reply usually needs one fact from somewhere else: the date in a calendar invite, the status of a ticket, what you promised in an email last week. A tool that only sees the Slack thread can sound fluent and still get that fact wrong.

Opsis looks at what is on your screen and at the apps you connected, and it uses your history. It still can't know what is only in your head. That is what the notes are for.

When a bot is the better choice

If you want a first answer posted for a whole team without a person in the loop, a Slack bot or a workflow is the right shape. Opsis is for the person who wants to keep sending their own messages and stop typing every word.
