Is there a Cotypist alternative for Windows?
The short version: Opsis is one. Opsis writes your next line wherever you type: Slack, Gmail, Outlook, Teams, Notion, Google Docs and AI chats like Claude and ChatGPT. Press Tab to keep it. It can also draft a whole reply from a few notes, using facts from your own work: what's on your screen, the apps you connect (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Slack, Notion, GitHub, Linear, Outlook) and your history. It runs on 64-bit Windows and on Mac.
Cotypist is a local autocomplete tool for Apple silicon Macs with macOS 14 or later, and its site offers a waitlist for Windows as of November 2026. The other system-wide tools I found (Typeahead, Caret) are also Mac-only. For Windows, browser-based tools such as Compose AI and HyperWrite work only in the browser.

Your data.
Opsis only follows the apps you share. Private windows and password managers are never recorded. When assistance is on, the text it needs is processed in the cloud with your consent, encrypted in transit and at rest, with zero data retention at our AI providers. Opsis isn't a screen recorder. You can pause, disconnect an app or delete your history whenever you like. Read the privacy policy · How Opsis handles data.
What changes when you leave local processing
Cotypist runs on the Mac. Opsis sends the text it needs to the cloud when assistance is on, with your consent, encrypted in transit and at rest, with zero data retention at our AI providers. In return it can use connected apps and history and write longer drafts. If your rule is that nothing leaves the machine, Opsis isn't the tool.
A note on Windows
Windows apps expose text differently from Mac apps, so behaviour varies by app. If an app doesn't let any tool write into it, Opsis can copy the draft for you to paste.
