Opsis is built local-first. This page explains what stays on your device, what can leave it, and how we use account and waitlist data.

1. Who we are

Opsis ("we", "us") provides a desktop application and related cloud services that help you understand how you work. Contact: hello@opsis.app.

2. What Opsis captures on your device

Depending on permissions and settings you enable, Opsis may process:

  • App focus and window metadata (which apps are active, transitions between them)
  • Behavioural aggregates such as keystroke rate, context-switch rate, dwell time, and scroll velocity (not keylogging of content)
  • Text from apps you explicitly whitelist for full context capture
  • For Offline Sessions: brief local camera frames used only while that session is running

There is no continuous global screen recording. Whitelisted text and Offline Session frames are processed on your machine first.

3. What stays local

Full text from whitelisted apps, local embeddings, and Offline Session camera frames stay on your device. Frames are analysed locally and are not uploaded. You control the capture whitelist in settings.

4. What can leave your device

When you use cloud features while signed in, Opsis may upload anonymised session structure and summaries needed to classify sessions, update your work map, generate insights, and power Query. That payload is designed as behavioural structure and short summaries, not a raw dump of screen content or Offline Session images.

Waitlist and account data (such as email and basic profile fields you provide) are stored so we can authenticate you and communicate about access.

5. How we use data

  • To operate the Opsis desktop and cloud product
  • To authenticate accounts and manage early access
  • To improve reliability, safety, and product quality
  • In aggregate, anonymised form only, for research or benchmarking that cannot reasonably identify you

We do not sell your personal work history or attention graph as advertising inventory.

6. AI processing

Cloud classification, summaries, insights, Query context, and Find Automations may use third-party model providers under our contracts. We send only the minimum context needed for the feature. Local Quick Ask and on-device vision for Offline Sessions are designed to keep sensitive capture on your machine wherever possible.

7. Retention and deletion

Local data remains under your control on your device. Cloud account and session data are retained while your account is active so the product can work. You can request deletion of your account and associated cloud data by emailing hello@opsis.app. We will delete or de-identify that data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep limited records for legal or security reasons.

8. Children

Opsis is intended for users 16 and older. If you believe a younger person has provided personal data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

9. International transfers

Infrastructure may run on providers such as Cloudflare and Supabase. That can involve processing outside your home country, with safeguards appropriate to the provider and the data involved.

10. Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above and, when appropriate, notifying you in-app or by email.
